Application Development Services
One team from discovery to production: web, mobile, API, data platforms and AI features — designed, built, tested and handed over with the operating practices that keep them running.
01
What this service is
We design and build the applications that carry a business process: the customer-facing product, the internal tool, the API other systems call, and the data platform underneath them. Work starts from the problem and ends with something running in production, with documentation and a handover to match.
Engagements are scoped so that value arrives early. A project typically begins with a short discovery, turns into a working slice, and grows from there — instead of a long specification followed by a single delivery date.

02
What we build
The stack follows the problem, and the same delivery practices apply to all of it. What changes between projects is the technology; what stays is the way the work is run.
- Web applications — customer portals, operational dashboards, internal tools.
- Mobile and field-facing apps for work that happens away from a desk.
- APIs and integrations that connect the systems you already run, plus the data platforms and pipelines underneath: ingestion, modelling, reporting.
- AI features — computer vision, document processing, retrieval and assistants over your own data.
- Modernisation of an application that has outgrown its first implementation.

03
How the work runs
Every project moves through the same five stages, and each one leaves an artefact you keep whatever happens next. Skipping a stage is what turns a delivery problem into a discovery problem six months later.
- Discovery — the problem, the users, the data, the constraints, and what done means.
- Architecture — the design, the interfaces and the trade-offs, written down before the build starts.
- Build — short iterations that produce working software, demonstrated as they land.
- Ship — deployment into your environment, with operational details settled rather than deferred.
- Operate — monitoring, support and improvement for as long as you want us involved.

04
Quality gates
Quality is enforced by process, not by intention. Nothing reaches production without passing the same gates, and every gate leaves evidence behind.
- Automated tests written alongside the feature, not after a freeze.
- Code review on every change, by a second pair of eyes on the team.
- Continuous integration and deployment, so releases are routine and reversible.
- Staging environments that mirror production closely enough to trust.
- Security and dependency checks in the pipeline, before a release rather than after an incident.

05
Handover and support
Handover is part of delivery, not an optional extra. Your team receives the architecture notes, the runbook, the deployment pipeline and a walkthrough of the codebase — whether or not you intend to maintain it in-house.
After go-live we stay available in the shape that suits you. That can be a support retainer with response commitments, a regular improvement cadence, or a clean handover with a defined exit.
You keep the code, the pipeline and the documentation — we would rather earn the next project than lock in this one.

06
How engagements start
Most start with an assessment: a focused review of the problem, the data and the constraints, ending in a written recommendation. Where the path is still uncertain, a scoped proof of concept answers the technical question in weeks rather than months; where it is clear, we go straight into production delivery.
Tell us what the application has to do and who will use it. We will come back with the shape, the sequence and the first milestone.

Have an application to build?
Describe the process it has to carry and the people who will use it, and we will propose the delivery shape and the first milestone.
